VCE Schools Ranking 2022
VCE Schools Ranking 2022
The VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) is the senior secondary school qualification (Year 11 and Year 12) issued by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). The VCE provides diverse pathways to further study or training at university or TAFE and to employment. VCE school rankings are important for both parents and students to understand the school’s performance, success rate and more.
CrunchGrade provides you with this short guide that will help you in taking the tough decision of choosing a VCE school. We have compiled a list of VCE rankings for different schools in Victoria, Australia based on their performance in VCE.
VCE includes more than 90 subjects out of which students choose 20 to 24 subjects for years 11 and 12. VCE VET unit results contribute to the ATAR – Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank score for university entrance. A common success rate, median score, and percentage are calculated to rank schools according to VCE school ranking.
How VCE Scores are Calculated?
VCE Units 1 and 2 are assessed by the respective schools. Units 3 and 4 are assessed by VCAA. Every student is awarded a study score by VCAA. The study score of the student indicates how they performed in comparison to other students who took VCE units 3 & 4. To calculate your score, Grade assessments for Unit 3 are added to the Grade assessment of Unit 4 and the Grade assessment exam. The Grade assessment of the final exam is more important than the assessment of units. The maximum study score for VCE is 50, for each study an average of 30 is set. So, if you have a score of 40+ you did exceptionally well. If 1000 students were enrolled, only three out of 1000 students will get 50 scores.

ATAR and VCE
The ATAR calculations are undertaken by the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). It uses only the study scores from Units 3 and 4 of VCE studies and appropriate VET programs’ scores, if possible. The scores in each study are compared or ‘scaled’ against other studies to yield a percentile ranking for each student that reflects their comparative performance against all other candidates across the state.
